Liquid residue comparison
When pipetting commonly used detergent solutions, compare the performance of Sartorius’ standard and low-absorption tips with those of 5 other suppliers.[ Pipette Tip 1200,Pipette Tip 50ul,Filter Tips Covid,1200ul Filter Tip,Filter Tips Price ] After testing all liquids, it was found that Sartorius low-absorption tips had the lowest amount of liquid residue. The performance of some other manufacturers’ low-absorption tips is not even as good as Sartorius’ standard tips, which indicates that there is a significant performance difference between the low-absorption tips on the market.[ Pipette Tip 1200,Pipette Tip 50ul,Filter Tips Covid,1200ul Filter Tip,Filter Tips Price ]
We compared Sartorius standard tips and low-absorption tips with low-absorption tips from 5 other suppliers when pipetting 200 μl of the following detergents. These detergents include: 10% Tween 20, 0,1% Triton X-100 and 10% SDS. We are using 10-300μl Picus electric pipettes with tip capacities of 200 μl, 300 μl and 350 μl (the specifications depend on the product specifications and compatibility of each supplier). The residual amount of liquid in the tip is measured by gravimetric analysis. Repeat the test for 10 tips from each supplier.

In another experiment, PCR buffer containing staining detergent was used as a test reagent to compare the accuracy of pipetting with different low-absorption tips and observe how the amount of pipetting affects the liquid residue in the tip. Sartorius low-absorption tips have the least amount of residue. The residual liquid volume of Sartorius standard tips is even close to the residual volume of low-absorption tips from some manufacturers. The best pipetting accuracy can be obtained with Sartorius low adsorption tips, which strongly illustrates the advantages of this tip in applications such as PCR. The data also shows that the difference in the amount of residual liquid between the standard tip and the low-absorption tip increases as the pipetting volume increases. The reason is that the liquid will be adsorbed on the larger surface inside the tip.

Compare low retention tips from 5 other suppliers with Sartorius standard tips and low retention tips (filter and non-filter). Use pipette tips with capacities of 120 μl, 200 μl, and 300 μl (the specifications depend on the product specifications and compatibility of each supplier) and Sartorius mLINE® 20-200 μl to perform 20 μl and 20-200 μl staining PCR buffer 120 μl pipetting. The gravimetric method is used to measure the amount of liquid remaining in the tip. Repeat the test for 10 tips from each supplier. Error bars represent standard deviation.

In conclusion:
Low-absorption tips have obvious advantages over ordinary tips when pipetting liquids containing detergents, and can greatly reduce the amount of liquid remaining in the tips after pipetting. At the same time, the results also show that there are significant differences in performance of various low-absorption tips on the market. Comparing various low adsorption tips, Sartorius low adsorption tips can ensure the best sample recovery rate.[ Pipette Tip 1200,Pipette Tip 50ul,Filter Tips Covid,1200ul Filter Tip,Filter Tips Price ]
