How to troubleshoot pipettes

How to troubleshoot pipettes

Phenomenon Reason Solution
Abnormal piston movement = Piston is installed too tightly= Insufficient piston lubrication

= Solidification of the grease on the surface of the piston

= Foreign matter or damage on the surface of the piston

=There are impurities and particles between the piston, O-ring and the tip connecting rod

= O-ring is damaged

——Disassemble the lower end and reassemble——Grease the piston——Remove old grease and apply new grease

——Clean the piston or replace the piston

——Clean and lubricate the O-ring and the tip connecting rod

——Replace O-ring

Inaccurate pipetting volume or leakage =Improper installation of the Pipette Tip
Pipette Tip does not match
=There are foreign particles between the Pipette Tip and the Pipette Tip connecting rod
= The Pipette Tip is damaged
= Pipetting too fast
= The Pipette Tip leaves the liquid level too fast= Foreign matter or damage on the surface of the piston
=There are impurities and particles between the piston, O-ring and the Pipette Tip connecting rod
= Insufficient lubrication of O-ring and piston
= O-ring is damaged
= Incorrect operation
——Reinstall the Pipette Tip——Clean the tip connecting rod and replace with a suitable Pipette Tip
——Clean the tip connecting rod and replace the Pipette Tip
——Replace with a new Pipette Tip
——Adjust the pipetting speed, slow aspiration and slow release
——When pipetting a viscous, large-volume liquid, stay for a few seconds after aspirating the liquid, and then remove it from the liquid surface
——Clean the piston or replace the piston
——Clean and lubricate the O-ring and the tip connecting rod——Grease on
——Replace O-ring
——Please operate according to the instructions
Residual fluid in the tip Residual fluid in the tip  =The mode with additional liquid is selected(Reverse, sub-sample, unequal volume)
= Pipette Tip does not match
=Improper installation of the tip
——Press the start button to empty the Pipette Tip
——Use the right Pipette Tip
——Reinstall the Pipette Tip
= High adsorption of the Pipette Tip= The liquid is too viscous ——Replace the Low Retention Filter Tips
——Select the reverse pipetting mode, pre-wash the Pipette Tip, and slow down the suction and release speed
Noise during operation  = Insufficient piston lubrication  ——Grease the piston
Inaccurate dispensing of special liquids  = Improper calibration, high-viscosity liquids need to be re-calibrated= Pipette liquids that are easily volatile or whose density is significantly different from water  ——Recalibrate with problem liquid——Pre-wash the tip or recalibrate
Tips fall off or are difficult to install  =Poor quality Pipette Tip=The Pipette Tip has been damaged  ——Use high-quality Pipette Tip——Replace with a new Pipette Tip
