What do we need to pay attention to when using the embedding cassette？
The definition of embedding: is the process of wrapping the tissues that need to be embedded with an embedding agent to provide performance support or chemical protection. The key to embedding is leveling and orientation, and the second is to eliminate errors and pollution.
1. Selection of embedding machine: try to choose high-quality and complete functions of embedding machine;
2. Embedding paraffin selection: try to choose high-melting (58-60℃), high-quality sectioning paraffin, high-melting paraffin can make the inside and outside of the tissue wax block have a hardness difference, which is convenient for tissue sectioning, and high-quality paraffin has less impurities. If the selected paraffin wax has many impurities, it is recommended to melt the paraffin first, discard the bottom layer, and take the upper layer of clean paraffin, and put it into the embedding machine after it has solidified (it is forbidden to pour the melted paraffin directly into the embedding machine, otherwise it will affect The service life of the embedding machine).
3. Embedding mold selection: Choose a mold of the right size, make sure that the tissue is surrounded by paraffin, and the tissue should be placed in the center.
4. Replacement of embedding tweezers: Regardless of the size and type of the tissue, one piece of tissue must be replaced with a pair of tweezers;
5. Requirements for embedding operations:
When embedding, use tweezers to gently press the arched part of the tissue block to make it flat on the bottom. If there is no special requirement, the largest section of the tissue is usually used as the embedding surface;
The cyst wall and luminal tissue should be embedded vertically;
Small pieces of tissue for puncture or endoscopic biopsy should be put together as much as possible, and ensured to be on the same plane;
Observe the embedding surface carefully, such as wire knots or steel needles must be removed;
Open an embedding box to embed one tissue, and it is strictly forbidden to open two tissues on the embedding table at the same time;
After the embedding is completed, the number of tissues needs to be counted again.
