Why aseptic inoculation technique is important

The culture characteristics of microorganisms refer to the population morphology and growth of microorganisms cultured on the medium. Generally, slant, liquid and semi-solid media can be used to test the culture characteristics of different microorganisms. They are grown on slanted medium and can be filamentous, bristle, beaded, sparse, dendritic or pseudorhizoid. Growing in liquid medium, it can be turbid, flocculent, mucous, form biofilm, the upper layer is clear and the bottom is precipitated. The puncture culture is in semi-solid medium, which can spread around the inoculation line; or only grow along the line; the upper layer can grow well, even in one piece, and the bottom grows very little; or the bottom grows well, and the upper layer does not even grow. The culture characteristics of microorganisms can be used as a reference for their species identification and identification of contamination in pure cultures.
When testing the culture characteristics of microorganisms or conducting other microbiological experiments, the inoculation process must ensure that it is not contaminated by other microorganisms. It is important to operate the inoculation technique.
