Differentiation and selection of flat bottom, U-shaped and V-shaped culture plates

Culture plates of different shapes are used for different purposes. Flat bottom cells are usually used for cell culture, which is easy to observe under the microscope, has a clear base area, and the height of cell culture surface is relatively uniform.

U-shaped or V-shaped plates are usually used for special requirements. In immunology, for example, when mixed cultures of two different types of lymphocytes require contact with each other, the U-plate is usually chosen because the cells will be concentrated in a small area by gravity. V-plate is commonly used for cell killing and immunological hemagglutination tests. Cell killing can also be replaced by a U-plate (after adding cells, centrifugation at low speed).
